Power poles made from Timber – Koppers-treated hardwood and Galvanised Steel that support the overhead power lines to your home or other properties within your property’s boundary, but doesn’t supply to another customer are known as property poles. Typically, these poles are fully owned by the property owner. Power poles that aren’t safe can lead to electric shock or fires. Property owners owning a power pole are themselves responsible for keeping it safe.
How safe is your property pole? When inspecting a property pole, the cross-arm supporting the power line or the power line itself – Never climb the pole or even touch the power line; instead, at all times check from the ground.

At regular intervals, inspect around the pole’s base to ensure there is no rust formation, decay, a sign of termites or other types of damage. If your pole has a cross-arm, then look at it from the ground and see if it appears to be in excellent condition.
